Thomas was appointed to the Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department in January 1992. He has previously held the rank of Lieutenant and was a member of the Leonia Fire Department from 1986 to 1994. Thomas is a certified Fire Official and acts in that capacity in the absence of the Fire Official.
He works full-time in the Edgewater Department of Public Works as Superintendent and has been elected member of the Edgewater Board of Education.
