Gregory S. Franz
 

       Gregory Franz began his service to Edgewater on August 14, 2006.  Mr. Franz has over 23 years of New Jersey municipal government experience and has served municipalities in both Bergen and Passaic County.  As a graduate of Rutgers University he possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree as a Pi Sigma Alpha graduate in Political Science as well as a Master of Public Administration degree as a Pi Alpha Alpha graduate.  Mr. Franz is also a State of New Jersey Qualified Purchasing Agent and has completed course work to become a New Jersey Registered Municipal Clerk and Certified Municipal Finance Officer.  Mr. Franz is also a commissioner on the South Bergen Municipal Joint Insurance Fund responsible for providing liability insurance to 23 local municipalities.  He is also a commissioner on the New Jersey Sustainable Energy Joint Meeting, providing low cost power and energy to local governments, a commissioner on the New Jersey Environmental Joint Insurance Fund, providing environmental liability coverage to participating municipalities, and the New Jersey Municipal Excess Liability Residual Claims Fund, providing participating municipalities additional liability coverage.  Mr. Franz is a member of the New Jersey Municipal Management Association, the American Society of Public Administration, and the New Jersey League of Municipalities.   Often he is asked to participate on government panels and has guest lectured as a local government specialist at both Rutgers University and Bergen Community College.

  • Managing the day-to-day operations 
  • Enforcing ordinances and policies
  • Providing direction and supervision of personnel
