Public Works & Recycling

Responsibilities
The Edgewater Department of Public Works collects recycling, white goods, and yard waste. Yard waste and white goods are picked up by appointment only. In addition, they are responsible for park maintenance, leaf and snow removal, and countless other duties to keep Edgewater looking its best.

Garbage Collection


 Garbage is collected by an outside contractor on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Remember, garbage should be placed on the curb after 8 p.m. on the night before collection.


Emergencies


Emergencies such as sewer back-ups or fallen trees should be reported to the Edgewater Police Department at 201-943-2200.

Location


The Department of Public Works and Recycling Department are located at 540 River Road. Directly across from the Edgewater Golf Range.

Recycling


Recycling bins can be picked up onsite from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. There is no charge for these bins.

Recyclables, such as paper, junk mail and co-mingled can be dropped off at the office address 7 days a week. Please remember, no plastic or paper bags.

White goods should be dropped off Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
