The Edgewater Volunteer First Aid Squad (EVFAS) was established in 1981 and initially shared a building with the Baby Keep Well across the street from the Borough Hall. At the present time the squad has its own building across from the old Borough Hall.
EVFAS presently has over 40 trained Emergency Medical Technicians including Volunteer Firemen.
In addition to maintaining their EMT certification, each member must be certified in defibrillation, hazardous materials, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and coaching the emergency vehicle operator.
These dedicated volunteers are available 7 days a week 365 days a year.
EVFAS maintains a mutual aid agreement with surrounding East Bergen Communities, assuring that ambulances are immediately available to respond to call for assistance in the event of a disaster.
