[ARCHIVED] FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT

* Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. 

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union and southeast New York, including the following areas, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northern Queens, Northern Westchester, Richmond (Staten Island), Rockland, Southern Queens and Southern Westchester. 

* WHEN...From late Friday night through late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Prolonged rainfall will occur Saturday some of which may be heavy at times. A total of 2 to 3 inches of rain is forecast with locally higher amounts possible. There will be potential for flooding which could linger into Saturday night with residual runoff and for some area rivers and streams. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
