Register to Vote

Qualifications of an Eligible Applicant

• Must be a United States citizen
• You are not currently serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction
• You will be 18 years of age by the next election
• You will be a resident of the State and county 30 days before the election

Registration Deadline

The deadline is 21 days before an election. This may change, however. Always contact your Municipal Clerk of the Bergen County Commission of Registration.

Where to Register to Vote

Applications can be obtained either online from the County here , from the Edgewater Borough Clerk, or from the Commissioner of Registration office in Bergen County. Registration forms are also available at the Division of Motor Vehicle offices.

You are required to provide identification when applying.

Schedule of Elections

Primary Elections

Primary Elections are held on the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Monday in June. The polls for this election are open from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.

General Elections

General Elections are held on the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Monday in November. The polls for this election are open from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.

School Elections

School Elections are held annually on the 3rd Tuesday in April. The polls for this election are open from 2 - 9 p.m.
