Temporary Handicap Placards
Temporary Handicap Placards are valid for 6 months, and are intended for residents who are expected to heal from a temporary injury. Residents who are in need of temporary placards can stop by the station to pick up the Application for the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Services Temporary Handicapped Placard.
The applicant must then fill out the form, appear before a medical doctor or podiatrist to obtain a signature, and write a check for $4 to the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles. Then return the form with the check for processing to the Records Division at the Police Station (either by mail or in person).
At this time the applicant can make arrangements for obtaining the placard. Temporary Handicap Placards must be returned to the Records Room upon expiration. Extensions of up to 6 months may be granted when necessary.
Permanent Handicap Placards
Permanent Handicap Placards are not obtainable from the Borough or the Police Department. Please see the New Jersey State Motor Vehicle Commission for all information on permanent placards.
