Public Service Announcement from your friends at the EPD.

We’ve had an increase in auto burglaries recently and almost all of them are to unlocked vehicles. Thieves typically go driveway to driveway looking for unlocked cars.  If they find a locked car they move on until they find an unlocked one.  The simple act of locking your car can decrease your chances of becoming a victim.

Don’t leave your keys/key fob inside of your vehicle!  If the thieves find your vehicle unlocked they will often check to see if keys are in the car or will try the push button start in the case of keyless ignitions.  It’s bad enough to wake up to find that someone has been though your car, it’s even worse to find your car gone.

Lastly - if you see something, say something!  If you notice suspicious activity give us a call, we’re here 24/7 @ 201-943-2200.
